Once again, PGEI is engaged to do a Controlled Source Magnetotellurics (CSMT) evaluation for Pan Pacific Power Philippines Corporation (PPPPC). There are three (3) Geothermal Service Contract (GSC) areas of PPPPC, namely, Cagua-Baua Geothermal Project, Cervantes Geothermal Project and Abra Geothermal Project, respectively.
The CSMT evaluation of Cagua was completed in 2015, that of Cervantes was in 2016, and now, the CSMT survey for Abra is underway. The survey is programmed with up to 100 stations to measure over an area of about 50,000 hectares. The objective of the survey is to evaluate the geothermal potential of the project area, located east of the impressive northern-flowing Abra River.
The team consists of the veteran crew of the Cagua and Cervantes surveys, with the help of another technician and GIS specialist, who himself is an expert in geophysical evaluation.
The survey commenced on the first week of March, 2017, and is programmed to be completed by the end of April, 2017.
