In line with the objective of increasing geothermal installed capacity from both conventional and binary technologies by year 2040 and promoting direct-use applications of geothermal resources in the Philippines, the Department of Energy launched a project for geological and geochemical studies of six (6) geothermal prospects, namely Bugias-Tinoc, Pugo-Tuba, Mt. Ampiro-Malindang, Mati-Lupon-Tarragona, Mt. Sembrano, and Coron.
In 2018, MGI entered into a contract with PGEI to conduct Schlumberger MT Survey at Maibarara Geothermal Field.
In 2015, PGPC entered in a two-year contract with PGEI with the objective of verifying the structural controls of PGPC’s geothermal fields in both Tiwi and MAKBAN. The contract was renewed for another 2 years from 2018 to 2020.
In the last quarter of 2015, PPPPC engaged the technical services of PGEI to conduct CSMT surveys in the company’s three geothermal prospects.
In 2012, PGEI recommended to APC a prospective, frontier and undeveloped geothermal area located in Southern Mindanao. In 2013, a GSC was awarded to APC to explore and evaluate the geothermal prospects.
Engaged as independent consultants since late 2012, PGEI geoscientists rendered services as geologist specialists, geophysicists, geochemists and drilling operations supervisors, locally and abroad.
